Brigade Headquarters formed in UK 30 August 1941 initially to supervise the training of Infantry Bns converted to Tank Bns.

June 1942 Redesignated 33rd Tank Brigade serving under 3rd Infantry Division until May 1943.

(During this time 3rd Inf Div was a "Mixed Division" consisting of 2 Infanty Brigades and an Armoured Brigade).

March 1944 Redesignated as 33rd Armoured Brigade.

Brigade was deployed to NW Europe on 13 June 1944 where it remained until the Brigade Headquarters was disbanded on 22 August 1945.
